Senate Votes to Keep Funding Planned Parenthood

The Senate on Thursday voted down a measure that would have defunded Planned Parenthood, with five Republicans voting against the party line. The vote went 42-58, with Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA), Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), and Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) all voting nay. The same resolution had passed the House last month, despite seven House Republicans voting against eliminating their funding.
