Senator: Obama ‘Fear-Mongering’

Senator Robert Menendez, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee slammed the White House on Wednesday for using what he sees as “over the top” language and “fear-mongering” to stop new sanctions on Iran after the administration negotiated an interim deal with the country. "What I don't appreciate is when I hear remarks out of the White House spokesman that ... if we're pursuing sanctions we're marching the country off to war. I think that's way over the top, I think that's fear-mongering," Menendez said on NPR. Menendez joins many Republicans and some Democrats who have been critical of the administration’s interim deal with Tehran in which Iran accepts limits on its nuclear program in return for relief from sanctions that have devastated its economy.
