Severe Pot Shortage May Hit Washington

If you live in Washington state, don't get rid of your secret stash just yet. Randy Simmons, the legal-pot project manager for the state's Liquor Control Board, said "Will there be shortages? The answer is yes." Relatively few growers have submitted marijuana samples for testing, a prerequisite for selling in the state. Randy Oliver, who runs the only lab certified to test marijuana for the state, says only two growers have submitted samples. 420-friendly folks may have to face long lines and high prices, according to experts. One of the two licensed growers was already selling their harvest to retailers for $4,000 a pound, so good luck getting grass in the Evergreen state.
