'Shadow' Drones for Pakistan

U.S. will supply a dozen unarmed aircraft.

During an unannounced visit to Pakistan, Defense Secretary Robert Gates revealed plans to begin supplying the country with Shadow drones, a smaller version of armed Predator drones. The move is intended to help Pakistan in its fight against the Taliban. Shadow drones are also unmanned and equipped with sensors and cameras that feed video back to operators on the ground. The Predator drone program has stirred up anti-American sentiment in the region.
