Serena Williams quit her doubles match on Tuesday, forcing her and sister, Venus, to drop out of Wimbledon. Serena was apparently given blood-pressure medication before the match against Kristina Barrois and Stefanie Voegele. Serena struggled to hit shots and serves, and she also hit serves that bounced before the net. The umpire took the unprecedented move of stopping play and asking Serena if she was OK to continue. She said yes, but proceeded to serve another double-fault. Then Serena and Venus Williams walked to the sideline hand-in-hand. The umpire announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, Miss Williams has to retire.”
