X-Men: Days of Future Past will have to promote itself without its director. Bryan Singer opted out of publicity participation for the summer film, writing in a statement that he doesn't want the recent sex abuse charges against him "to divert ANY attention" from the movie. “However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shake down it is," he wrote. Singer is being sued by Michael Egan, who claims he was assaulted by the director and three other Hollywood executives in 1999.
