The shooting spree in Yuma, Arizona, apparently had its roots in a contentious divorce. The gunman, Carey Dyess, 73, appears to have shot his former wife, her lawyer, and three others before killing himself. Dyess was married in 2002, but the marriage was dissolved in 2007 and his wife took sole ownership of their shared mobile home. Dyess was married four times before, in Washington State. Dyess also shot and wounded a friend of his wife.
