Slew of Bombs Strike Baghdad

ATTACK

10 dead, 19 wounded.

A series of bombs targeting security officials in western Baghdad on Monday evening killed 10 people and injured 19 more, officials told the Associated Press. The first was a roadside bomb in a Shiite neighborhood aimed at an Iraqi army patrol. A second explosion targeting a passing police brigade occurred moments later. As rescue workers arrived on the scene of the first attack, a third blast went off. While violence in the capital has receded over the years, regular attacks such as this series have prompted concerns about U.S. troops leaving the unstable country by the end of this year.
