Things are looking up for Edward Snowden, the former intelligence analyst who blew the whistle on the U.S. government's secret data collection program. It looks like he may be able to leave Sheremetyevo airport on Wednesday after spending a month confined there in a bid for asylum. His lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, said they expect the Russian government to grant Snowden papers that will allow him to travel into the city. Snowden has applied for temporary asylum in Russia, but that application could take up to three months to process. Snowden has been trying to get to Latin America but fears that it would be unsafe to travel there sooner because the American government has been trying extradite him back to the U.S. He is facing espionage charges.
