Not since Lena Dunham premiered Tiny Furniture has a SXSW guest caused such a stir. NSA leaker Edward Snowden will reportedly speak at this year's South by Southwest Interactive Festival in a panel with Christopher Soghoian, principal technologist at the American Civil Liberties Union, and his legal adviser, the ACLU's Ben Wizner. Snowden will not be making a physical appearance in Austin, though—he will speak remotely from Moscow. On Saturday, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange also spoke at the conference from his asylum at the Ecuadorean embassy in London.
