Hollywood’s awards season is officially in high gear. The industry’s top stars feted the year in television and movies at the Golden Globe awards on Sunday night, showering praise on films from The Social Network to The King’s Speech, and TV series' Glee and Boardwalk Empire. Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer each won for their roles in Fox’s musical romp Glee, which took home the TV comedy prize. Boardwalk Empire scored the top TV drama award, as well as a statue for star Steve Buscemi. On the film side, Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Network scored the biggest, taking the best dramatic picture prize, along with honors for Sorkin’s screenplay and David Fincher’s direction. Other big winners included Annette Bening for her role as a lesbian mother in The Kids Are All Right, Natalie Portman for ballet flick Black Swan, and Colin Firth for the period piece The King’s Speech.
