Does “Macho sports culture” denigrate women? Is there a cultural tendency to "’spin images of steroid abusers into cult heroes?” Does such warship turn some of these cult heroes into “megalomaniacs, gamblers, substance abusers, violent criminals and worse?” Maybe so; but would we really “be much better off without it in every way?” as this US News editorial purports.
