Solar Impulse, the sun-powered airplane on an around-the-world trip, arrived in Phoenix late Monday. The zero-fuel plane left Mountain View, California, at dawn and landed 16 hours later in the suburb of Goodyear. Swiss pilot Andre Borschberg took over for co-pilot Bertrand Piccard, who flew the single-seat aircraft from Hawaii to the West Coast just over a week ago. The latest trip was the plane’s 10th leg. Piccard and Borschberg are aiming to travel to New York by the beginning of June to start preparing for the crossing of the Atlantic. The Solar Impulse began its journey around the world in March 2015 in United Arab Emirates' capital Abu Dhabi and has made stops in Oman, Myanmar, China, and Japan.
