Source of NYC Syrup Smell Found

SOLVED MYSTERIES

Wafted from factories in New Jersey.

Mystery solved! More precisely, the source is fenugreek seeds used in the food processing. "I never smelled it but for the record I do like maple-sugar syrup on my French toast," Bloomberg joked.
