A South African court has ordered a temporary travel ban on Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to stop him leaving the country due a request by the International Criminal Court asking for his arrest. Bashir is in Johannesburg for a summit of the African Union. Bashar is wanted for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Darfur conflict. South Africa, a signatory of the ICC’s statues, is required to arrest Bashir.
