South Korea: ‘Vital Threat’ Level

South Korea raised its threat level to “vital” on Wednesday amid growing concerns that the North is preparing a missile test. Level two, or vital, is second only to what is used during wartime. U.S. and South Korean sources say that North Korea has one ballistic missile with an estimated 2,000-mile range that could be launched “any time now.” On Tuesday, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the Korean crisis may become “uncontrollable,” and he urged the North to keep open the joint industrial complex at Kaesong.
