Spanish authorities have charged the train operator who was at the helm when a high-speed passenger train derailed in northwestern Spain and killed dozens of people. Francisco Jose Garzon is facing 79 counts of homicide by professional recklessness and must report to court weekly to check in. Garzon's train license was suspended, and his passport was confiscated. Investigators are focusing on how fast the train was traveling when it hit a curve near Santiago de Compostela on Wednesday evening and derailed. The death toll may rise, as 70 people remained in the hospital following the crash, and 22 of them were listed in serious condition.
