Spicer: Conway Was ‘Counseled’ After Promoting Ivanka Trump’s Clothing Line

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said during his Thursday press briefing that top presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway has been “counseled” after she openly promoted Ivanka Trump’s clothing line on Fox News earlier the same day. Spicer’s remarks come after the top Democrat on the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings, asked for “disciplinary action” in response to the remarks, which were made in response to Nordstrom’s decision to drop the clothing line. “Go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” Conway said, adding: “I’m going to just give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.” In his letter, Cummings said Conway’s remark “appears to be a textbook violation of government ethics laws.”
