At this point, it would be a surprise if the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark stage was considered a safe working environment. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hit the troubled $65 million musical with three safety citations relating to four separate incidents that left cast members with injuries. The three violations carry up to $12,600 in fines. On Friday, a spokesman for Spider-Man said the show “remains in compliance with all government agencies and continues to adhere to all safety protocols.” In the citations, OSHA said “the hazards of falls or being struck during flying routines” are high. In December, one of the actors who plays the title character fell more than 30 feet during a live performance.
