Ten members of the clergy were arrested during protests in St. Louis on Monday, after walking up to a line of police officers and offering to her them confess their sins. Among those arrested was Cornel West, a well-known activist who's also a Baptist minister. The clergy members were supported by 600 protestors, as part of the demonstrations that began this weekend in protest of the shooting of Vonderrit Myers Jr. by police Wednesday night. Police say 18-year-old Myers fired at the officer first. Myers’s father, who works at the St. Louis University, where a sit-in protest was held Sunday night, addressed the crowds this weekend. “This lets me know my son was loved,” he said. The shooting reignited tensions after the killing of Michael Brown in August. On Sunday, 17 people were arrested at another protest related to Myers.
