State Rep. Winslow Running for Kerry’s Seat

Daniel B. Winslow is “110 percent” committed to replacing John Kerry in the Senate, he announced Friday, becoming the first Republican to throw his hat into the special-election ring. “I’m going to give this everything I’ve, with all that I have, because the crisis confronting our country demands nothing less,” the state representative said. “I am confident I am going to be on the Republican ballot.” Democratic U.S. Reps. Stephen F. Lynch and Edward J. Markey have already announced plans to run for the Massachusetts seat—no easy task, as candidates must provide 10,000 signatures before February 27 to enter the race.
