Straight Outta Compton, the biopic chronicling the lives of rap group N.W.A, opened this weekend to the tune of $56 million. The film only cost $29 million to make and is now has the prize for biggest money-earning first weekend for any musical biopic. The previous prize belonged to 2008's Walk the Line. Universal/Comcast Corp. is allegedly beginning a campaign to push for Oscar nominations for the film.
