Six high-school students on Long Island were arrested Tuesday after they were caught paying a college student to take the SATs for them. According to police, each student paid 19-year-old Sam Eshaghoff between $1,500 and $2,500. Teachers at Great Neck North High School heard rumors of the scheme, then identified the six, all of whom had big discrepancies between their academic records and SAT scores, and had registered to take the SATs at different high schools. They have all been charged with misdemeanors, while Eshaghoff is charged with scheming to defraud, criminal impersonating, and falsifying business records.
