Researchers at the University of Illinois used an experimental anti-cancer drug to shrink tumors in mice between 30 and 50 percent, and stopped almost growth in almost all the tumors after 10 days of use. The new drug uses BHPI, a chemical compound that transforms pathways into toxic environments for the cancerous cells. The compound also stops new protein production, which makes it impossible for cancer cells to grow.
