Subway Apologizes for Footlong Snafu

Well, this is embarrassing. Subway, which swears this normally never, ever happens, is facing the ire of its customers after a man posted a photo of his “Footlong” sandwich next to a tape measure that revealed it to only be 11 inches. The photo, and subsequent outrage, went viral, and the chain quickly released a statement saying the bread length could vary between franchises. On Friday, however, the company was even more apologetic, saying it will work extra hard to “ensure consistency and correct length” in all its sandwiches and regrets “any instance where we did not fully deliver on our promise to our customers.” Don’t worry, Subway, it doesn’t make you any less of a chain.
