A treacherous swarm of photographers may be stalking Suri Cruise’s every move following the tabloid-baiting divorce settlement of her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, but the 6-year-old celebritot has been weathering the lightning-like camera flashes like a veritable storm-chasing socialite. The precocious Cruise has been flitting through New York City, where she now lives permanently with Holmes, since her parents’ split, frequenting fine dining restaurants, ice cream parlors, zoos, and zoos again. Suri was such a fan of the Children’s Museum of the Arts when Holmes took her there July 5 that the two returned again just eight days later. The 10,000-square-foot museum, on Charlton Street and Hudson Street in downtown Manhattan, curates art both by and for children. Most of the exhibits are hands-on and interactive, allowing patrons, A-list or otherwise, to create their own art.

Three generations hit the Central Park Zoo when Holmes’s mom accompanied her daughter and Suri to the uptown oasis July 12. According to reports, Suri was especially enamored of the penguin exhibit. “She was standing on the ledge with her face pressed to the glass,” a fellow zoo-goer told Us Weekly. “When a penguin swam up, Suri screamed playfully, and she and Katie laughed.” The trio reportedly also hit up the petting zoo, where Suri tried her hand at feeding goats, sheep, pigs, and llamas.

Suri Cruise, zoo enthusiast? Just over two weeks after spending the day at the Central Park Zoo, Holmes and Suri traveled uptown to the Bronx Zoo on July 28, where their day was highlighted by a giraffe-feeding session. At one point, Suri even climbed an observation deck and held out a branch for three of the zoo’s giraffes to eat as Holmes snapped away on her iPhone.

The Manhattan location Suri frequents the most—besides her swanky Seventh Avenue apartment—is Chelsea Piers, the sprawling sports complex on the West Side Highway between 17th and 23rd Streets. The massive center has a driving range, bowling alley, skating rink, rock climbing wall, and more—all with views of Hudson River. Suri’s been spotted there, among other things, taking gymnastics classes. Gabby Douglas in training? Recently Holmes and Suri were in a minor car accident leaving Chelsea Piers; no was injured.

What does an A-list celebrity child do when she tires of schlepping around the city in her kiddie high heels? Suri, for one, takes to the sky. The 6-year-old was snapped July 18 boarding a helicopter and spent the day choppering above the city on a spectacular sightseeing trip. Of course, high-flying adventures seem a little more plausible—not to mention safer—when your dad is accompanying you. And he happens to be the star of Mission: Impossible.

Count Suri among New York’s ladies who lunch. And when she lunches, it’s at the classiest establishments. Suri was spotted with her mom July 29 grabbing an afternoon bite at the Meatpacking District hot spot Pastis. With a lunch menu (PDF) boasting Skate au Beurre Noir and Sautéed Calf’s Liver, what exactly a 6-year-old could eat at such a restaurant could seem baffling. But then again, Suri has a taste for fine dining, having frequented the likes of Balthazar and ABC Kitchen in the past.

On July 10, Holmes treated Suri to a sugary treat at the East Village ice cream parlor Sundaes and Cones. Suri’s a frequent customer—it’s the same place the pair went to grab a treat instead of attending Tom Cruise’s 50th birthday party at the beginning of July. Someone could spend a full day traversing New York chasing Suri’s sweet tooth. She’s made recent stops at Jacques Torres Chocolate, Dylan’s Candy Bar, and Serendipity 3, to name a few.

Don’t worry, Suri didn’t order a cup of Joe when she stopped in to Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company with Holmes on July 30. While her actress mom left carrying a cup of coffee, the 6-year-old reportedly opted for a more age-appropriate (arguably) bottle of Perrier.

Not all of Suri’s New York gallivanting involves VIP access, helicopters, and fine dining. On June 25, Holmes and the youngest Cruise went on a movie date to see the latest Pixar flick, Brave. How down to earth was the duo? Numerous media outlets gleefully reported that Holmes even paid in cash. Not everything was low maintenance, however. Suri toted a mountain of blankets and stuffed animals into the theater with her.

The Whole Foods supermarket in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood plays a pivotal role in the Katie Holmes-Tom Cruise saga: It was the site of her first post-breakup interview. The Daily News caught up with Holmes while she was carting around Suri on a July 4 shopping trip at the store, just a week after the big split, and got a headline-making quote from the star mom. The juicy sound byte: “I’m all right. Thank you.”

Suri rang in her sixth year this spring on the Great White Way, taking in a performance of the smash musical Newsies. Even at her young age, Suri’s proved to be quite the patron of the arts, having seen Broadway productions of Mary Poppins, The Lion King, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, as well as the New York City Ballet’s staging of The Nutcracker and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

One of Suri’s favorite New York restaurants is Alice’s Tea Cup, an Alice in Wonderland-themed eatery with three locations in the city. She dined there with Holmes on July 5 but has frequented the restaurant numerous times. Before heading home, Holmes purchased a wand, book, and feather headband from the restaurant’s gift shop.
