Syria: Israel Strikes Hit Near Damascus

UP IN THE AIR

Claims two sites near capital were struck.

Syria's state news agency, SANA, reported on Sunday that Israeli air strikes hit two sites near the capital. SANA claims the strikes hit near the airport in Damascus, as well as the town of Dimas, which is northwest of the capital. SANA called the attack “an act of aggression against Syria.” There were no reports of casualties. Israel has not responded to the claims. Israel has launched air strikes generally aimed at weapons systems in Syria since the revolt against Bashar Assad's regime began in 2011.
