The Syrian government killed at least seven protesters Tuesday, the first day of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr. Protests took place across the country after morning prayers; six of the deaths occurred in the southern province of Deraa and one in Homs. On Monday, the government killed eight people. Meanwhile, the U.N. is debating rival resolutions to punish Syria.
