The Syrian government has said it will act “with force” to restore control in the northern town of Jisr al-Shughour, where it said 120 security forces were killed Monday. The source of the violence is unclear, with a military mutiny one possible explanation. Syrian state television said hundreds of armed gunmen took over the town, and blamed “armed gangs” for the violence.
