Tea Obreht Wins Orange Prize

25-year-old author is youngest to do so.

Author Tea Obreht became the youngest person to ever win the Orange Prize on Wednesday, taking the award for her novel The Tiger’s Wife. Obreht, 25, wrote the novel, about a young doctor’s investigation into her grandfather’s death, as a student at Cornell; she was born in Yugoslavia in 1985 and lives in Ithaca, New York. The Orange Prize is awarded each year to a woman writer.
