Silicon Valley is setting down its sword to pay Steve Jobs tribute. Bill Gates said he knew Jobs as a “colleague, competitor, and friend” and said working in the same field was an “insanely great honor.” Mark Zuckerberg posted a Facebook note saying “Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. Google’s cofounders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin also posted notes to Google+. “He always seemed to be able to say in very few words what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it," Page wrote. “His focus on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me.” Brin, meanwhile, called Jobs an “inspiration for leadership and vision.” And, finally, Jobs’ old colleague, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, gave an interview to the Associated Press: "We've lost something we won't get back," he said.
