The FBI and Capitol Police confirmed Saturday that they are investigating threats made on Twitter against Ted Cruz. A person identified as Troy Gilmore Jr. tweeted from the handle @ArmyVet54 Friday to “Take down Ted Cruz, at his home” and then posted Cruz’s home address. Yikes. Also there was these creepy follow-ups: “What goes around comes around CRUZ!!” and Cruz “needs tobe [sic] taught a street wise [sic] lesson.” Of course, the whole thing could be an empty threat, since @ArmyVet54 has zero followers—but a search of Cruz’s name on Twitter yields the tweets.
