Teen’s Autopsy Contradicts Police Report

Police shot and killed 17-year-old Jessica “Jessie” Hernandez on Jan. 26 after she drove a stolen car into an officer’s leg—at least, that’s the story according to the cops. An autopsy of the Denver teen showed two bullet wounds on the left side of her chest, one on her right thigh and another on her pelvis. The Hernandez family’s attorney says this shows that the girl was shot from the driver’s side of the car, contradicting police claims that she was driving into the officers when they fired multiple rounds at her. A friend of Hernandez’s who was in the car at the time of the shooting also says that police were next to the car, and that the officer was hit only after Hernandez was shot.
