Pastor Terry Jones, who gained fame by planning a Quran burning on the anniversary of 9/11 and then canceling it, now says he’ll never try burn a Quran again. Jones told NBC’s Today show Saturday that he planned the stunt to “expose that there is an element of Islam that is very dangerous and very radical,” and that his church had accomplished that mission after weeks of media frenzy. Jones said his book burning was in response to the Cordoba House, a planned Islamic community center two blocks from where the Twin Towers fell. He added he has no plans to meet the imam behind the Cordoba House project, but he hopes one can be arranged.
