Texas has moved to cut Planned Parenthood from its Medicaid benefits, the state announced Tuesday. Officials threatened to defund the organization for more than a year, but were met with delays and staunch opposition. Planned Parenthood currently receives $3.1 million in Medicaid funding, which it uses to provide health services for low-income women. Texas plans to cut Planned Parenthood from the program within 30 days. Planned Parenthood told the Texas Tribune it would fight the state in court.
