An increasingly convoluted and tangled web of affairs, emails, and confusion has brought one powerful general to his knees and may take down one more. What better way to laugh about the Petraeus affair than by user-created memes?

When news of Gen. David Petraeus’s affair surfaced, the country was shocked, not just that one of the most respected men had been involved in an extramarital affair—but that the head of the nation’s clandestine operations was unable to hide it.

This meme creator was probably shocked to discover that ABC News Denver had accidentally used this altered version of Broadwell’s biography in a newscast. The book’s name is actually “All In,” which couldn’t help but lend itself to endless meme fodder.

New York’s famously absurd tabloid papers didn’t hesitate to jump in on the puns. The Daily News didn’t go quite as overboard in its Photoshop work as the Post did though …

Just a day makes all the difference in the news world—after it was revealed that another woman had been involved in the Petraeus scandal, Sunday’s New York Post didn’t hold back.

Bloggers couldn’t believe it when the FBI announced they had 30,000 pages of emails between General Allen and Tampa socialite Jill Kelley. Here, Petraeus tutors Allen on the correct volume of mass emails.

Broadwell’s sexually suggestive book title was irresistible to the media, who turned it into every kind of pun imaginable in the days after her identity was revealed.

Calm, cool, and collected Hillary Clinton couldn’t help but weigh, er, text, in on the juvenile drama unfolding within her government.

An affair over email? Rookie mistake, Petraeus. Most people have had some unwanted email interactions—check out these tips for keeping them under wraps.
