The Overexposed Republican Field

After Tuesday night’s economic debate, the best thing President Obama has going for him in next year’s election is the country getting too much time to look at the opposition. The debate was supposed to move away from talking points and push the candidates toward substance, but The Daily Beast’s Matt Latimer observes that it only proved the contenders have no specifics to offer. “Let the country take a long, hard look at the bland, uberpolitical talking heads pretending to be contenders for the most important office in the land.” Maybe then they’ll realize Obama “ain’t that much worse.”
