The Place That Inspired ‘Girls’ (Photos)

<p>Oberlin, the small private liberal arts college in Ohio, is where <i>Girls </i>creator <a href="/content/dailybeast/articles/2013/02/13/stay-naked-lena-dunham.html">Lena Dunham</a> went to school. The somewhat isolated institution is sometimes even blamed for the <a href="http://www.newrepublic.com/article/books-and-arts/111732/why-lena-dunhams-response-her-critics-has-made-the-show-better-ever">problems of the show</a>. Perhaps the close connection between Oberlin and <i>Girls</i> is warranted, as a <a href="http://www.oberlinbook.com/" target="_blank">massive coffee-table book</a> by fashion photographer Jonathan Glynn-Smith about the college shows a lot of images that you'd find familiar in the series.<br> </p>
