The Place That Inspired ‘Girls’ (Photos)

Lena's School

Oberlin, the small private liberal arts college in Ohio, is where Girls creator Lena Dunham went to school. The somewhat isolated institution is sometimes even blamed for the problems of the show. Perhaps the close connection between Oberlin and Girls is warranted, as a massive coffee-table book by fashion photographer Jonathan Glynn-Smith about the college shows a lot of images that you'd find familiar in the series.
