A student is carried away after being injured during a protest against President Nicolas Maduro’s government. Venezuelan troops blocked students during marches against Maduro as government supporters also rallied on the anniversary of 2014 protests that led to 43 deaths. National Guard soldiers and police used tear gas in the volatile western city against student demonstrators who tossed rocks and Molotov cocktails.

A Buddhist monk plays with a tiger at the Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua, otherwise known as Tiger Temple. Thai officials last week raided the Buddhist temple that is home to more than 100 tigers and are conducting an investigation into suspected links to wildlife trafficking. Authorities from Thailand's Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation checked 143 Bengal tigers living at the temple, and found them to be in good health.
