Anwan Glover, an actor best known for his role on HBO's “The Wire,” was stabbed early Sunday morning at a Washington, D.C., nightclub. According to a police report, Glover, 41, said he was punched by one assailant and another hit him on the head, causing him to slip on the wet floor. He then heard someone shout “He has a knife,” and felt a sharp pain on his right side. On “The Wire” Glover played Slim Charles, a gangster dealing with street violence in the nearby city of Baltimore. In real life, Glover participated in a number of anti-violence campaigns. He said he was shot 13 times growing up in Washington, D.C., and his brother was shot to death in the District in 2007. Glover's son was also shot at a party in the capital in 2011. Glover was taken to George Washington University Hospital. His condition has not yet been disclosed.
