Thousands more U.S. Marines were expected offshore in Haiti on Monday, as the situation in the country turned increasingly desperate and dangerous. Looters roamed the capital of Port-au-Prince over the weekend, and when U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon visited the city, one man yelled at him, "We don't need military aid. What we need is food and shelter." A top U.S. official tells the Associated Press that the lawlessness is hindering aid delivery. By Monday, 12,000 U.S. forces will be in the region.
