Thousands Protest in Iran

Just as relations between the U.S. and Iran begin to thaw, tens of thousands of protestors packed around the former U.S. embassy in Tehran. It was the largest anti-American demonstration in years, and highlighted the passionate support hard-liners still command when it comes to relationships with Washington. The protests take place every year to commemorate the 1979 takeover of the embassy during the Islamic Revolution, but this year crowds were especially large after the Revolutionary Guard called for a significant show.
