Sorry "NCIS" and "60 Minutes" fans: if you live in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, and five other major markets, Time Warner Cable is shutting down your CBS channels. On Friday afternoon, the No. 1–rated primetime network failed to reach an agreement with Time Warner, and was dropped from the service, along with cable networks owned by CBS (Showtime, TMC, FLIX, and Smithsonian). CBS has been trying to increase retransmission fees, which are paid by providers to TV station owners. Time Warner claimed CBS was trying to bump the fees 600 percent, but the network denied that, saying it wanted payment to be in line with its shows' popularity.
