One of the most famous hookup apps is being sued for allegedly failing to keep things professional in the workplace. Tinder’s former marketing vice president, Whitney Wolfe, is suing her ex-employer, claiming she endured inappropriate private messages from Tinder co-founder and marketing chief Justin Mateen. She says in the lawsuit that he called her a “whore” in front of Chief Executive Officer Sean Rad. Wolfe also accused Mateen of stripping her of her co-founder title because he said having a “24‐year-old girl” as co-founder made the company “seem like a joke.” Tinder’s parent companies, IAC and Match.com, are also named as defendants. (IAC is the owner of The Daily Beast.) Tinder said in a statement that “Mateen was suspended pending an ongoing internal investigation,” but “Ms. Wolfe’s allegations with respect to Tinder and its management are unfounded.”
