Brazilian driver Tony Kanaan kissed the ground and drank the traditional bottle of milk after winning the 97th Indy 500. "I got a little bit of luck today," he said after the race, which featured a record average speed of 187.433 mph, 68 lead changes, and 14 leaders. The brisk 62-degree weather in Indianapolis may have fostered more speed and more crashes. On turn 1, J.R. Hildebrand slid into the wall, though he didn't sustain any injuries. (At least he didn't crash while leading on the final lap, like he did two years ago.)
