Tony Winner Roger Rees Dies at 71

Known for roles in 'Cheers' and 'The West Wing.'

Tony Award-winning Welsh actor Roger Reese, perhaps best known in America for playing condescending Englishman Robin Colcord in Cheers, died after a short illness Friday night at his home in New York. He was 71. Reese won an Olivier Award and a Tony for the title role in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, and enjoyed a long TV career in the U.S., where he lived for 25 years. He is also known for playing Lord John Marbury in The West Wing.
