At least three people were injured Wednesday during a shooting at Townville Elementary School in Townville, South Carolina. According to deputies, the alleged shooter was taken into custody and is a teenager. The unnamed male apparently shot his father to death near the school before going on his rampage, authorities said. Two children and a female teacher were reportedly transported to local hospitals for injuries. According to Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Highway 24, which leads to the school, was shut down as police and EMS responded to the situation. The school has 286 students—from pre-K through sixth grade—and is in upstate Anderson County, near the Georgia state line. Students were evacuated by bus to nearby Oakdale Baptist Church to be picked up by parents. WYFF-TV reported that there was a death of a man on a road connected to the school, and that, according to officials, it is connected to the reported shooting.
