Transgender Kid Wins Case

A transgender 6-year-old in Colorado has won a civil-rights case against her school district to use the girls’ bathroom, despite being born a boy. Coy Mathis, a first-grader at Eagleside Elementary School in Fountain, had been told she could not use the girls’ bathroom, causing her parents to file a civil-rights complaint in February. “Schools should not discriminate against their students, and we are thrilled that Coy can return to school and put this behind her,” said Coy’s mother, Kathryn Mathis.
