Air travel at Heathrow Airport began again on Tuesday—three days after snow stopped falling. Complaints registered included the major hub’s inadequate preparation for the weather: Heathrow, the largest airport in the country and the fourth-busiest in the world, has a snow fleet of only 69 vehicles, compared with a reported 150 at the U.K.’s Gatwick Airport—which is half the size. Meanwhile, reports surfaced Tuesday that a flight carrying Madonna had been diverted from Heathrow to nearby Stansted Airport, where the plane waited on the tarmac for hours due to the overcrowding—but Madonna and her entourage were allowed off the plane hours earlier.
